Beth Haran Hostel

A home of care, faith and learning.

The Beth Haran Hostel was established by the Evangelical Baptist Convention (EBC) to provide a home for the children of mission workers serving in remote and far-flung areas. Its primary purpose is to offer a safe, nurturing and faith-filled environment where these children can stay while pursuing their education.

Located at Bethel Area, Dorcas Veng, New Lamka, the hostel serves as a second home, providing care, guidance and support for students whose parents are engaged in full-time ministry. With a capacity to accommodate approximately 39 students, the hostel currently houses 20 students, ensuring each child receives personal attention, encouragement and opportunities for holistic growth.

The hostel is looked after by a dedicated Warden, who oversees the daily care, discipline, and well-being of the students, ensuring that Bethharan remains a place of comfort, learning and spiritual nurture.

While the Church aspires to extend the hostel facility to other children in need in the future, it is currently reserved exclusively for the children of EBC workers, in recognition of the sacrifices made by those serving in distant and challenging mission fields.

Beth Haran Hostel continues to stand as a testimony of the Church’s commitment to caring for the families of its mission workers and investing in the next generation through education and Christian values.
